The NSF I-Corps Mid-Atlantic Hub, with sponsorship from Morgan State University, completed a hub-wide cohort on March 21, hosting 18 innovative research-based teams. Company product focuses ranged from AI applications, medical devices, aquaculture environmental technologies, education, and more. Participants averaged over 13 customer discovery interviews per team, contributing to 240 conversations held with potential customers and industry representatives.
Many of the cohort teams will be eligible for the national I-Corps Teams program, which provides $50,000 for continued customer discovery.
The next Hub opportunity is in April, a special AI/robotics-focused cohort led by Carnegie Mellon University.
